TOURIST VISA

Tourist Visa is granted to a Foreigner who does not have a residence or occupation in India and whose sole objective of visiting India is recreation, sight-seeing, casual visit to meet friends and relatives, attending a short term yoga programme. No other activity/ purpose is permissible on a Tourist Visa.

Validity: 1 year (Single/Multiple)

Documents Required:

1. Two recent colour photographs (size: 2 x 2 inches) showing full frontal view of face against a white background to be pasted on the application form. Photograph should not be stapled.
2. Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the contemplated stay in India with photocopy
3. Copy of the confirmed return ticket needs to be attached with the visa application at the time of the submission of the application.
   (Note: Stay in India on Tourist Visa is allowed for 90 days only, at a time)
4. Proof of financial standing (recent bank statement, sponsorship letter, etc.)
5. Accommodation arrangements/ hotel bookings.

*In case of non-Filipino applicants who are not resident in Philippines, reasons for applying for visa from Manila.

The provision relating to 2 months gap between two visits of a foreign national to India on a Tourist Visa has been reviewed by the Government. It has been decided to lift the restriction of two-month gap on re-entry of foreign nationals coming to India except in case of nationals of Afghanistan, China, Iran, Pakistan, Iraq, Sudan, Bangladesh, foreigners of Pakistan origins and Stateless persons and in such a case, permission should be sought from the Head of Indian Mission in the region and registration would be required within 14 days of arrival in India with the FRRO.
