Ambassador of India’s call on H.E. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., the President-elect of the Republic of the Philippines 

Ambassador H.E. Shambhu S. Kumaran called on the President-elect of the Republic of the Philippines H.E. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. today and handed over the letter of felicitation from Prime Minister of India H.E. Narendra Modi.

In his letter, PM Modi congratulated President-elect Marcos on his resounding victory in the recently concluded elections and looked forward to working together with the President-elect in continuing the momentum of bilateral ties towards a dynamic partnership. 

Ambassador briefed the President-elect on the recent progress in bilateral ties focusing on the development partnership in the areas of agriculture, health and pharma, digital governance and finance as well as cooperation on defence and security.

Ambassador thanked the President-elect for his strong commitment to further strengthening relations between India and the Philippines. 

The Embassy will remain strongly engaged with the incoming administration to swiftly implement new initiatives to further strengthen and deepen bilateral ties.
