Handing-Over Ceremony of the Renovated High School Teacher Training Center

 Koror, Republic of Palau | 03 September 2025

Ambassador of India to Palau H.E. Shri Harsh Kumar Jain, together with H.E. Ms. Bartinah Ntombizodwa Radebe-Netshitenshe, Ambassador of South Africa, and H.E. Mr. Gilberto Fonseca Guimarães de Moura, Ambassador of Brazil (joining virtually) handed over the renovated High School Teacher Training Center in Koror to the Government of Palau on 3 September 2025.

The project was funded by the Government of India under the IBSA Fund (India–Brazil–South Africa), with International Organization for Migration (IOM) acting as the implementing partner. It is a testimony to the robust developmental assistance programme spearheaded by the IBSA countries to deepen relationships with the Global South. 

The ceremony was graced by H.E. Charles Obichang, Minister of Public Infrastructure & Industries, Republic of Palau. 

In his remarks, Ambassador Jain emphasized that the upgraded Center will serve as a hub for teachers training, professional development, and innovation, reinforcing India’s commitment to development cooperation with Palau.

India and Palau enjoy warm and friendly ties ever since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries 30 years ago. Palau is a valuable Pacific Island nation partner of India in its Act East Policy, South South Cooperation and Indo-Pacific vision.
