Embassy of India organises a workshop on Pharma sector (March 08, 2018)

The Embassy of India, in association with Department of Health, Republic of Philippines and other Philippine allied agencies organised a workshop titled “Making available affordable Pharmaceuticals in the Philippines” on March 8, 2018 for the Indian Pharma companies based in the Philippines. About 40 people attended the workshop including 20 representatives from the Indian Pharma sector. Apart the Department of Health, the other agencies who participated in the workshop included the Food & Drug Administration (FDA), the Department of Trade & Industry (DTI), the Board of Investments (BOI), Philippine Pharma Procurement Inc. (PPPI), Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC) and the Department of Foreign Affairs.
In his opening remarks, Ambassador highlighted the importance of the Pharma sector in the bilateral relationship and drew attention to the recent bilateral talks between Prime Minister of India and President of the Philippines in which they have underlined the role of the Indian Pharma sector in making available affordable medicines in the Philippines.
Presentations were made by FDA, DTI and the Indian Pharma companies followed by a Q & A session.
