The Embassy of India, Manila celebrated the 71st Republic Day of India in Manila. The reception was attended by Acting Secretary Eduardo Malaya of the Department of Foreign Affairs; Mrs. Ma. Lourdes Locsin, spouse of Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr.; Senator Sherwin Gatchalian; former Foreign Affairs Secretary Delia Albert; former Ambassador of the Philippines to India and currently the President of Miriam College, Laura Q. Del Rosario; Office of the President, Undersecretary Emmanuel Bautista; National Defense College President Archimedes H. Viaje and spouse, many other high level dignitaries of the Philippine Government, Ambassadors and officials of various Embassies in the Philippines. High level representatives of the business world and distinguished members of the Indian community were also present. A photo and painting exhibition was organised on the occasion which showcased various facets of Indian culture. A cultural performance was also organized on the occasion, showcasing Indian traditional dance – Bharat Natyam.
