A 21 member delegation from the College of Defense Management, India is on a visit to the Philippines from 22-26 October 2018 as a part of the International Strategic Management tour of the higher defense mangement course -14.As a part of the tour, the delegation will be visiting different arms of the Philippines forces, Department of Foreign Affairs(DFA) in Manila and Palawan.The photos below are from their session with the DFA on 24 October 2018.
The 5th India Business Forum (IBF) meeting was held on 25 Oct 2018 under the Presidency of new President Mr. Pushkar Mishra. Mr. Mishra welcomed the members and thanked Ambassador Jaideep Mazumdar and DOF Undersecretary Karl Kendrich Chua for gracing the occasion.
Ambassador Jaideep Mazumdar addressed the Foreign Service Institute, an autonomous think tank under the DFA of the Philippines. Senior diplomats and defence ministry officers had a lively interaction on Indo Pacific, Act East Policy and regional issues.
The 6th India Business Forum (IBF) meeting was held on 08 Jan 2019 at Annapoorna Restaurant. Mr Bertie Ezra presided over the meeting in the absence of Mr Pushkar Misra, the President. Articles of Incorporation' and By-laws of the forum were discussed and members unanimously elected Mr. T.K. Ramesh, as Vice President and Mr. Shanti Sipani as Treasurer. Ambassador Mazumdar updated the members of the latest developments in India-Philippines bilateral relations since the last meeting. Mr. Berti Ezra, who is shortly leaving Philippines for good, was given a farewell and presented with a memento.

A 23 member strong delegation from Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council of India (PHARMEXCIL) visited the Philippines from 16-18 January, 2019, as part of their three nation tour; the other two countries being Vietnam and Indonesia.
To kick off the celebrations of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and the Philippines, the Embassy of India in Manila organized a concert of Indian Dance which featured Ms. Amrita Lahiri, a young and highly renowned Indian Classical Dance exponent at the BGC Arts Center on January 20, 2019.
Embassy of India in Manila organized a Flag hoisting ceremony at India House on the occasion of 70th Republic Day of India.The programme began with H.E Ambassador Jaideep Mazumdar hoisting the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem.Amb. Mazumdar also read out the President of India's message to the nation on the occasion.The event was attended by a large gathering including members of Indian community , representatives from diplomatic community and Friends of India.The Embassy officials and their families presented a cultural programme which was much appreciated by the gathering.

Both of them had a fruitful discussion and exchanged views on ways and means to take the Bilateral relationship forward. Ambassador Designate Jaideep Mazumdar also presented copies of credentials to the Foreign Secretary.
Ambassador (Designate) Jaideep Mazumdar interacting with Indian students in Davao Medical School Foundation (DMSF). Presently, about 4500 students are enrolled in the DMSF studying BS and medical course. In all, over 10,000 Indian students are pursuing BS and medical course in various colleges in the Philippines with maximum students enrolled in DMSF followed by Perpetual Dalta in Las Pinas which has about 1800 students. Significant number of Indian students are also in NCR region of Manila, Vigan, Cebu, Bicol, etc.
